Iran has adopted an offensive military stance after peace talks with the US failed, while US naval strikes targeted Iranian oil tankers following maritime clashes.

Iran has declared a transition to a "completely offensive" military strategy following the collapse of peace negotiations with the United States. Iranian armed forces stated they will press forward until achieving the "complete defeat" of American forces in the region, coinciding with the expiration of a 60-day memorandum of understanding signed in June. Washington confirmed it has no plans to extend the temporary ceasefire agreement.

Military activity in regional waterways has escalated concurrently. US Central Command reported striking five Iranian oil tankers, sinking one, after Iranian forces launched two attacks against an American warship. Analysts warn that rising economic pressures and maritime clashes near the Strait of Hormuz significantly elevate the risk of a broader conflict.
