Tehran has covertly imported $2 billion in military hardware despite blockades, while its offshore crude reserves dry up and Hormuz naval tensions escalate.

Tehran faces compounding maritime and economic pressures alongside ongoing military friction across the Middle East. According to a Reuters report, Iranian military agencies secretly imported over $2 billion in hardware and explosives through a network of more than 5,000 proxy firms to bypass the United States blockade. However, Iran's offshore shadow fleet in Asia has reportedly exhausted its stored crude reserves, ending a vital source of oil revenue from China.

In the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported intercepting multiple vessels for allegedly violating transit guidelines, claiming several ships caught fire or struck naval mines. Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency stated that while Tehran continues to restrict inspector access, there is no evidence Iran has attempted to repair nuclear facilities damaged by previous Western air strikes.
