Iran demands an end to US sanctions and military pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as clashes in the Persian Gulf escalate.

Tehran has reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Washington meets several demands, including lifting port blockades and energy sanctions, unfreezing assets, and halting military operations. However, an anonymous official indicated that Iran might reopen the waterway within seven days if the United States decreases military actions and commits to mediated diplomatic talks.

Meanwhile, military confrontations in the Persian Gulf are intensifying. Following US operations to escort commercial oil tankers through the passage at night, Iranian forces deployed rocket-propelled sea mines. In response, American forces conducted strikes on Iran's Larak Island, raising fears of a broader cycle of conflict in the region.
