Iran maintains its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, awaiting a definitive U.S. stance on a seven-day reopening proposal amid growing military clashes.

Iran has stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Washington lifts oil sanctions, unfreezes national assets, and ends military operations. Although U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Tehran's proposal to reopen the strategic shipping lane within seven days in exchange for reduced U.S. military pressure, Iranian officials indicated they are still awaiting a "definitive position" from Washington.

Concurrently, military friction along the waterway has intensified. Following an American military strike on Iran's Larak Island and nighttime U.S. naval escorts for oil tankers, Iranian forces responded by deploying rocket-launched naval mines, further raising the risks of escalation in the strategic corridor.
