Iran and Oman continue talks on Strait of Hormuz transit while Tehran warns of retaliatory strikes against Gulf states if attacked by the US.

Negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding transit through the Strait of Hormuz remain ongoing, with US President Donald Trump stating an agreement to reopen the strategic waterway could be finalized shortly. However, Tehran is seeking authority over maritime traffic with intervention rights, while warning of retaliatory strikes against Persian Gulf energy infrastructure if Washington initiates further attacks.

While American officials acknowledged progress in the Muscat-led discussions, no final pact has been concluded. Iranian officials reaffirmed that negotiations are being conducted exclusively with Oman.

In parallel regional developments, Lebanon and Israel initiated their seventh round of talks in Rome, while the United Nations reported that approximately 800,000 displaced Lebanese citizens have begun returning to the country's south.
