Iran has shifted to an offensive military stance following the failure of peace talks with the US and recent maritime clashes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has transitioned to an entirely offensive military posture following the collapse of peace negotiations with the United States and the expiration of a 60-day memorandum of understanding signed in June. Iranian armed forces stated they will not relent until achieving the "complete defeat" of American forces in the region.

The diplomatic impasse has been accompanied by escalating military action at sea. US Central Command reported striking five Iranian oil tankers and sinking one in response to Iranian attacks on an American warship. Analysts warn that rising economic strain on Tehran and disputes over maritime access in the Strait of Hormuz threaten to spark a broader regional conflict as both sides refuse to extend the temporary truce.
