Iran has transitioned to a completely offensive stance following the collapse of peace talks, as US forces retaliate against Iranian oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has shifted its military strategy to a "completely offensive" posture following the breakdown of peace negotiations with the United States. Iranian military commanders declared they will seek the "complete defeat" of American forces in the region after a 60-day deadline set in a June memorandum expired without an extension of the temporary ceasefire.

The strategic pivot coincides with direct military engagements in critical maritime transit routes. United States Central Command confirmed American forces targeted five Iranian oil tankers, sinking one vessel, in response to repeated Iranian attacks against a US warship. Mounting economic pressure and growing disputes over control of the Strait of Hormuz have raised international concerns that the confrontation could expand into a broader regional conflict.
