Naval tensions have escalated near the Strait of Hormuz amid economic pressure on Iran. United States Central Command confirmed American forces targeted five Iranian oil tankers, sinking one, in response to attacks on a US warship. Analysts warn that rising military friction elevates the risk of a wider regional conflict.
