Former Slovenian captain Čeh and striker Mlakar reflect on domestic football

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have reflected on their football careers and the landscape of domestic football in Slovenia. Čeh, who led the national squad during its celebrated era under manager Srečko Katanec, transitioned to coaching following his playing career. He spent over a decade assisting Katanec, including seven years working in Asia. While maintaining strong ties to Olimpija Ljubljana and Austria's Grazer AK, Čeh emphasized his ongoing respect for rival club Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Ljubljana native Jan Mlakar addressed his third spell with Maribor. Mlakar expressed confidence in the club's leadership and noted that derby matches against Olimpija remain unpredictable regardless of form, observing that even a struggling team can gain significant momentum from a derby fixture.
