Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have reflected on their respective football careers and the current landscape of domestic football in Slovenia.

Čeh, who captained the national side during its inaugural major tournament appearances, discussed his post-playing transition into coaching. Having represented clubs including Olimpija, Grazer AK, and Maribor, he spent over a decade as an assistant to manager Srečko Katanec, including seven years working in Asia.

Separately, 27-year-old forward Mlakar discussed his third spell with Maribor. Despite being born in Ljubljana, Mlakar stated that joining local rivals Olimpija was never an option. Commenting on an upcoming derby, he noted that despite internal difficulties at Olimpija, form remains unpredictable in local rivalry matches.
