EU warns against hostile acts on its soil as Russian strikes on Kyiv resume

Russian forces hit Kyiv as Moscow targets Ukraine's energy grid, while EU chief Ursula von der Leyen warns against hostile actions on European soil.
Russian forces executed additional drone strikes against Kyiv, injuring a resident following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly. Moscow's defence ministry confirmed an explicit campaign focused on destroying Ukraine's energy grid before winter. In response, Ukrainian aerial strikes against Russian oil refineries and energy infrastructure have disrupted domestic fuel supplies, compelling Moscow to import fuel.
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen affirmed the bloc's readiness to react to hostile actions, warning, "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil." Her statement followed a German investigation into explosive drone incidents in Leipzig, which identified two suspects linked to Moscow.
