U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that an agreement regarding the Strait of Hormuz could be reached shortly, describing the waterway as "open and operational." However, maritime traffic through the strategic passage recently fell by 20 percent to 95 vessels following a recent attack on a ship.

Tehran reiterated that transit will remain restricted until Washington alters its policy, warning that the waterway will not return to its pre-war state. Iranian officials confirmed that discussions with Oman continue to focus on establishing secure maritime corridors, though Iran cautioned it could launch a military offensive if diplomatic efforts fail. Concurrently, Trump stated that no direct negotiations with Tehran are scheduled.
