United States President Donald Trump suggested an agreement regarding the waterway could be reached in the coming days, while warning of severe repercussions if access is obstructed. Tehran has maintained that any reopening is contingent upon Washington lifting economic sanctions, offering financial compensation, and ceasing military threats.

Concurrently, Lebanese and Israeli delegates convened in Rome for a seventh round of diplomatic talks. In Lebanon, approximately 800,000 displaced residents have begun returning to the country's southern regions, according to United Nations figures, while separate security incidents were reported in the Red Sea corridor off Yemen.
