Death toll rises following sustained Russian strikes across Ukraine

Russian aerial strikes across Ukraine have claimed additional lives as officials updated casualties from widespread missile and drone bombardments. In the Kyiv region, local authorities reported between 15 and 17 fatalities and dozens of injuries after Russia conducted its third major aerial assault on the capital within a week. The overnight strikes ignited fires across residential zones, industrial facilities, and warehouses.

Further casualties occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where local emergency services reported five deaths and 16 injuries across multiple districts following nearly 60 attacks. Meanwhile, Ukrainian air defense capabilities remain severely strained due to critical shortages of interceptor missiles, leaving key urban centers and infrastructure vulnerable to sustained Russian assault.
