Casualties mount following drone strikes in Russia and missile attack on Kyiv

A wave of cross-border strikes and battlefield developments has heightened tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian drone attacks across Russian territory caused multiple casualties and infrastructure damage. In Moscow Oblast, strikes killed five people and injured ten. A separate drone crash on a beach in Krasnodar Krai left seven dead, including three children, and around 40 wounded. In Leningrad Oblast, intercepted drones ignited a blaze at a Wildberries warehouse complex.

Concurrently, a Russian overnight missile attack on Kyiv left nine dead and 33 injured. On the frontlines, Russian forces achieved a tactical breakthrough in Kharkiv Oblast, while Ukrainian troops advanced in southern Donetsk Oblast. Belarus also announced the creation of an air assault brigade along its border with Ukraine.
