US charges five alleged Russian agents over global plot targeting Ukraine allies
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian intelligence agents over a global plot to target supporters of Ukraine, while Denmark reported Russian sabotage on its defense firms.
United States federal prosecutors have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives accused of orchestrating a global campaign of assassinations and sabotage against supporters of Ukraine. The Department of Justice stated that the suspects recruited networks in North America and Europe to conduct surveillance and execute attacks, including a June 2024 incident in Prague.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Moscow conducted sabotage operations against Danish defense contractors manufacturing military supplies for Kyiv. Danish officials characterized these actions as an escalation in Russia's hybrid warfare campaign aimed at undermining Western assistance to Ukraine. The five accused Russian agents remain at large as international investigations continue.
