Israel rejects US-backed Gaza peace plan as Netanyahu demands Hamas disarmament
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point Gaza peace plan backed by Donald Trump, demanding the full disarmament of Hamas before any troop withdrawal.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his government's refusal to accept a 15-point Gaza peace framework championed by United States President Donald Trump. Speaking to his cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu stated that "Israel rejects the 15-point document" and insisted that armed forces "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed."
The decision highlights growing friction between Jerusalem and Washington, which recently promoted the framework as a diplomatic breakthrough. Although military operations have slowed following American diplomatic efforts, Netanyahu faces domestic political pressure from far-right coalition partners as he campaigns ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for late October. The United States administration has not yet commented publicly on the remarks.
