Israel rejects 15-point Gaza roadmap as Peace Council launches second phase
Israel has rejected a 15-point Gaza ceasefire plan, even as the US-led Peace Council initiates its second phase and tenders a military base project for foreign troops.
The Israeli Security Cabinet has formally rejected a 15-point ceasefire roadmap for the Gaza Strip, officially informing Washington that the proposed terms remain unacceptable. Drafted with input from Egypt and Hamas, the plan outlines an end to hostilities, a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops, and the handover of civil administration and security to a technocratic Palestinian committee.
Despite the rejection from Israeli leadership, the US-led Peace Council announced the commencement of the ceasefire's second phase. In parallel, reports indicate the council's initial reconstruction tender involves constructing a military installation inside Gaza, designated to house around 150 Moroccan personnel under potential multinational security arrangements.
