Netanyahu rejects US peace plan for Gaza as strikes escalate
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a US-backed Gaza peace plan, requiring total Hamas disarmament before withdrawal, as deadly strikes continue.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a US-backed 15-point peace proposal for Gaza, maintaining that Israeli forces will not withdraw until Hamas is fully disarmed. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel did not draft or agree to the proposal, casting doubt on the diplomatic framework promoted by US President Donald Trump.
To address Israeli security concerns over a potential power vacuum, Trump's Peace Council assured leadership in Israel that any troop withdrawal remains strictly conditional on the complete disarmament of Hamas.
Meanwhile, military action in the enclave has intensified. Palestinian health officials reported at least 19 people killed in Israeli strikes within a 24-hour period, placing severe strain on diplomatic negotiations.
