Zelensky casts doubt on Trump's energy ceasefire proposal as attacks continue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky countered U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a mutual energy ceasefire, citing continued Russian attacks on Ukrainian power infrastructure.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire, pledging to halt mutual strikes on energy infrastructure to help stabilize global fuel prices. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky contested the scope of the agreement, stating Kyiv had only paused strikes on Russian oil refineries for three days at the request of Washington.
Zelensky accused Moscow of continuing its bombardments of Ukrainian power facilities during the brief pause. Stating "we are done" with unilateral restraint, Zelensky warned that Ukraine will resume targeting Russian energy assets unless Moscow strictly adheres to a moratorium. Meanwhile, the Kremlin rejected proposals for a broader temporary cease-fire, as the European Union enacted its largest sanctions package to date against Russia.
