Qatari mediators report that diplomatic discussions between Washington and Tehran remain active, though reaching a final agreement faces major obstacles. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi outlined conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, demanding an immediate end to the US naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and a complete cessation of hostilities on all fronts.
In response, US President Donald Trump stated that Washington would demand financial compensation from Iran for past casualties, adding friction to negotiations. Meanwhile, US Central Command launched air strikes against Iranian missile launchers on Larak Island, marking the first direct attack on Iranian territory in a month. Iranian state media confirmed that six naval personnel died in the strike.
