The US remains hopeful for an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran denies direct talks with Washington and approves a navigation plan with Oman.

Diplomatic efforts to resolve maritime tensions in the Strait of Hormuz remain active, with Qatari mediators facilitating talks. US Treasury officials expressed hope that a deal to reopen the strategic waterway could be reached within days. However, Iranian authorities rejected claims of direct negotiations with Washington.

Meanwhile, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaïl Baghaï confirmed that Tehran and Oman approved "the geographical coordinates" for an alternative shipping route, provided external actors do not interfere.

Simultaneously, US President Donald Trump stated he would seek financial restitution from Iran over historic attacks and internal unrest, complicating diplomatic prospects.
