US launches economic offensive against Iran amid ongoing Strait of Hormuz blockade

Washington has initiated an economic offensive against Iran as Tehran keeps the Strait of Hormuz closed and US-Israeli disagreements surface over troop presence in Lebanon.
The United States has intensified its confrontation with Iran by launching an aggressive economic campaign aimed at isolating Tehran and penalising third parties that offer it assistance. The measures follow stalled negotiations over the enforcement of a 14-point memorandum drafted in June.
In response, Iranian authorities continue to enforce a maritime blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, demanding comprehensive sanctions relief, access to frozen overseas assets, and the lifting of restrictions on Iranian ports before reopening the strategic waterway.
Meanwhile, diplomatic friction has emerged between Washington and Tel Aviv regarding the wider regional conflict. US officials criticised Israeli intentions to maintain a military presence in southern Lebanon, although Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz affirmed that forces will not withdraw from occupied positions across Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip.
