U.S. Central Command has conducted strikes on Iranian targets and oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz following missile launches and mining attempts.

U.S. Central Command has executed strikes against Iranian military positions and three commercial oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The military action followed Iranian ballistic missile launches targeting U.S. warships and an attempted naval mining operation. U.S. forces confirmed that international shipping lanes in the strait have been cleared of explosive devices.

The targeting of commercial vessels represents an escalation in direct military engagements. President Donald Trump warned of additional retaliatory strikes against Iranian energy and civilian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if threats to regional shipping continue, cautioning that "very little will remain of Iran" if hostilities persist.

Military analysts described the escalation as part of an emerging era of "energy warfare" and fifth-generation conflict, marked by drone operations and strategic pressure on critical commercial corridors.
