Ukrainian drone crews face severe psychological strain on Zaporizhzhia front

Ukrainian soldiers operating reconnaissance and strike drones near Zaporizhzhia encounter severe psychological distress alongside physical danger. Members of the 82nd Brigade's 1st Battalion conduct operations from abandoned homes using satellite internet systems to coordinate precision attacks against Russian positions.

Although high-definition feeds allow troops to carry out targeted strikes, watching live, detailed footage of enemy casualties causes substantial emotional trauma among operators. Simultaneously, drone teams face immediate risks of detection. Russian artillery, counter-drone strikes, and electronic warfare routinely target command hubs, forcing Ukrainian crews to maintain low profiles while conducting continuous combat missions.
