President Zelensky appealed to NATO for air defense interceptors amidst supply drops, as Ukraine prepares to open four EU accession clusters and receives €1.4B in EU funds.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for help securing additional air defense interceptors, warning that deliveries have fallen to one-third of 2025 levels. Zelensky cautioned that "it is not just a summer phenomenon," as persistent missile deficits leave strategic ports and major cities exposed to frequent Russian drone and missile strikes.

Concurrently, Kyiv reported progress on European integration, stating Ukraine has met all necessary conditions to open four additional negotiation clusters. To reinforce Ukrainian resilience, the European Union transferred a fifth disbursement of 1.4 billion euros. The funds were generated from interest on immobilized Russian central bank assets during the first half of 2026.
