Ukraine faces a drop in air defense interceptor deliveries to one-third of 2025 levels, even as it fulfills EU negotiation criteria and receives €1.4 billion from frozen Russian assets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautioned that deliveries of air defense interceptor missiles have fallen to one-third of last year's levels. The shortage comes amid intensified Russian missile and drone attacks targeting Kyiv and southern port infrastructure. Zelensky discussed options for securing additional interceptor systems during talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Concurrently, Ukraine announced that it has satisfied all technical criteria needed to open four additional negotiating clusters in its European Union membership process.

To further support Kyiv, the European Union finalized a fifth tranche of €1.4 billion generated from profits on frozen Russian Central Bank assets. The capital will be allocated toward bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities and supporting its national budget.
