Ukraine reported a sharp fall in air defense missile deliveries while making headway on EU accession and receiving €1.4 billion from frozen Russian assets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that international partners delivered only one-third of the air defense interceptors provided in the previous year, leaving key air defense capabilities like US-made Patriot systems severely strained amid mounting Russian missile and drone attacks.

In response to intensifying strikes targeting Kyiv and southern port infrastructure, Zelensky held discussions with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to address shortages and secure additional interceptors.

Concurrently, Ukraine reported political and financial progress. Zelensky stated that Kyiv met all required criteria to open four additional negotiation chapter clusters for European Union accession. Meanwhile, the EU released a fifth financial tranche of €1.4 billion generated from profits on frozen Russian central bank assets to support Ukraine's defense procurement and broader economic needs.
