Ukraine reports a sharp fall in air defence deliveries following heavy Russian strikes on Kyiv, even as the EU transfers 1.4 billion euros from immobilized Russian assets.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that deliveries of crucial air defence interceptor missiles have fallen to one-third of previous levels, emphasizing that the decline is not "just a summer phenomenon." The warning coincided with Russia launching its third massive missile and drone strike against Kyiv and nearby regions within a week, resulting in at least 15 fatalities and 51 injuries alongside heavy infrastructure damage.

Simultaneously, Kyiv continues to pursue European integration, with Zelensky affirming that Ukraine has fulfilled "all the necessary conditions" to open four additional chapter clusters in European Union accession talks. Supporting these efforts, the EU disbursed a fifth tranche of 1.4 billion euros generated from interest on immobilized Russian central bank assets.
