Bulgarian and Ukrainian authorities are investigating a drone crash near a gas pipeline in northeastern Bulgaria, confirming no damage or deliberate targeting.

Bulgarian and Ukrainian authorities are collaborating on an investigation following the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle near a natural gas pipeline in northeastern Bulgaria.

Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence identified the wreckage as a drone model commonly operated by Ukrainian forces, while noting that initial evidence points away from any intentional targeting of Bulgarian territory.

In Kyiv, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tykhy stated that officials are maintaining close contact with their counterparts in Sofia to establish the technical circumstances and flight route. Ukrainian representatives pledged a transparent inquiry, emphasizing that Ukraine harboured no intention to target Bulgarian infrastructure. The crash caused no casualties, structural damage, or disruptions to energy supplies.
