Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have reflected on their football careers and domestic sports developments. Čeh, who captained Slovenia during manager Srečko Katanec's tenure, detailed his transition into coaching following his retirement from playing. Having spent over a decade as Katanec's assistant, including seven years coaching in Asia, Čeh noted his affection for former clubs Olimpija Ljubljana and Grazer AK alongside his respect for NK Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar discussed his third stint with NK Maribor, aiming to win his first league title with the club. Mlakar voiced trust in club leadership figures Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič. Ahead of a derby match against rivals Olimpija Ljubljana, Mlakar observed that teams experiencing difficult form can become especially unpredictable opponents in derby fixtures.
