Press freedom groups in Serbia document a surge in physical assaults, death threats, and verbal attacks against media workers from various political sides.

Press freedom organizations in Serbia have reported a significant surge in threats and hostility targeting media workers during July and early August. The Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia recorded 19 security incidents in July, including two physical assaults and 14 death threats. Concurrently, the Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation documented over 100 verbal attacks against journalists by state and ruling party officials.

Recent specific cases include online death threats against the editor of local outlet Volim Zrenjanin and an ongoing police investigation into a physical assault on film director Stevan Filipović. Additionally, the Association of Journalists of Serbia condemned intimidation tactics against pro-government media figures, citing property damage and an uninvited visit to the home of Informer chief editor Dragan J. Vučićević.
