Russian drone strikes killed at least eight people across Ukraine as Moscow claimed the capture of two settlements in the Donetsk region amid heavy fighting.

Widespread Russian aerial strikes targeted multiple regions across Ukraine over a 24-hour period, leaving at least eight people dead and more than 60 others injured. Ukrainian authorities reported that approximately 180 drones were deployed against areas including Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, emergency services confirmed five deaths and 16 injuries following nearly 60 attacks across five districts, with fatal strikes recorded in Kamianske and Pavlohrad. Additionally, a drone strike hit a petrol station near Kryvyi Rih, killing three people, among them an eight-year-old child.

Meanwhile, on the eastern front line, Russia's defence ministry claimed that its forces secured control over the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian officials reported that intense fighting continues across active sectors of the front.
