Russian strikes leave dozens dead across Ukraine as eastern battles intensify

At least 23 people have died and dozens more were injured following widespread Russian drone and missile strikes across several Ukrainian regions, according to local officials.

In Kyiv and its surrounding region, overnight bombardments killed at least 15 residents in what local authorities described as "one of the most tragic attacks so far." Further south, Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region left five dead and 16 wounded after nearly 60 strikes targeted five districts. Additional casualties occurred in a drone attack on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih, which killed three people, including an eight-year-old child.

Concurrently, Moscow’s defense ministry claimed Russian forces seized the eastern Donetsk settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk. Ukrainian military officials reported ongoing heavy battles along the front lines.
