At least 17 people were killed following massive Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, while Moscow claimed new territorial advances in Donetsk.

Russian forces launched extensive missile and drone bombardments across Ukraine, striking Kyiv alongside the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Local officials reported significant casualties, including at least 17 deaths and dozens of injuries in and around the capital, describing the overnight bombardment as one of the most tragic recent attacks. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, authorities confirmed multiple casualties, including three people killed when a drone struck a gas station near Kryvyi Rih. Ukraine faced approximately 180 incoming drones during the wave of aerial assaults.

Concurrently, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its forces captured the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian military reports acknowledged severe frontline combat in those areas but did not confirm any loss of territory.
