Widespread overnight Russian drone and missile strikes killed at least 23 people across Ukraine, as Moscow claimed new frontline gains in Donetsk.

At least 23 people have died and dozens more were wounded following widespread overnight Russian drone and missile strikes across Ukraine. Local authorities reported severe damage across several areas, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia, after approximately 180 drones targeted civilian and commercial infrastructure.

In the Kyiv region, officials confirmed at least 15 fatalities, calling the barrage "one of the most tragic attacks" recorded so far. Emergency services in Dnipropetrovsk reported five deaths and 16 injuries across five districts, including a drone strike on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih that killed three people, among them an eight-year-old child.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed its forces seized two settlements in the Donetsk region, Vasyutinske and Toretsk. Ukrainian military reports acknowledged fierce fighting along the eastern front without confirming the loss of territory.
