Russian strikes kill dozens across Ukraine as fighting intensifies in eastern Donetsk

Russian forces launched extensive overnight drone and ballistic missile attacks across several Ukrainian regions, causing widespread destruction and significant casualties. In the capital region of Kyiv, local authorities reported at least 17 deaths and dozens of injuries, describing the bombardment as "one of the most tragic attacks so far."

Further south, strikes hit the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Dnipropetrovsk authorities confirmed at least five fatalities, including victims from a drone strike on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces secured control of Toretsk and Vasyutinske in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian military officials confirmed ongoing heavy combat along the front lines without verifying the reported Russian territorial gains.
