Russian strikes kill at least 15 near Kyiv as drone attacks hit Black Sea shipping

Russian air strikes across Ukraine killed at least 15 people in the Kyiv region overnight, local authorities reported, in one of the capital's heaviest bombardments in months. Strikes using guided aerial bombs also hit the northern city of Sumy, killing three civilians, including two children aged five and ten, while port infrastructure in Mykolaiv and Odesa came under drone attack, damaging two civilian vessels.

Meanwhile, Turkey appealed to both Kyiv and Moscow to guarantee commercial navigation safety in the Black Sea following drone attacks that damaged two cargo ships near the Russian port of Novorossiysk. On the ground, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces announced the capture of two Russian soldiers from concealed positions without firing any shots.
