Russian air strikes killed at least 15 people around Kyiv, while Turkey called on Ukraine and Russia to protect commercial navigation in the Black Sea.

Recent Russian air attacks across Ukraine have inflicted heavy civilian casualties and damaged critical maritime infrastructure. Overnight strikes targeting the Kyiv region killed at least 15 people and sparked major fires, marking one of the most intense bombardments on the capital area in recent months. In northern Sumy, guided aerial bombs struck residential areas, killing three people, including two young children. Additional drone strikes damaged two civilian vessels in port areas around Mykolaiv and Odesa.

Amid escalating maritime risks, Turkey urged both Kyiv and Moscow to safeguard commercial shipping in the Black Sea following drone damage to two cargo ships near Novorossiysk. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces captured two Russian soldiers from concealed frontline positions without firing a shot.
