A series of Russian aerial strikes killed at least 18 people across Ukraine, while Turkey urged Black Sea shipping protections following drone attacks on commercial vessels.

Russian aerial attacks across Ukraine have caused significant civilian casualties and damaged maritime infrastructure. Overnight strikes on Kyiv and surrounding areas killed at least 15 people and ignited large fires, with local officials describing it as "one of the most tragic attacks so far." In Sumy, guided aerial bombs hit residential buildings, killing three people, including two young children. Further drone strikes damaged two civilian ships in Mykolaiv's port district.

Following additional drone strikes on two commercial cargo vessels near the Russian port of Novorossiysk, Turkey urged both Kyiv and Moscow to ensure navigation safety in the Black Sea. On the frontline, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces reported capturing two Russian soldiers from hidden positions without firing a single shot.
