Russian air strikes across Ukraine killed over 20 people and injured dozens, while Moscow claimed territorial gains in eastern Donetsk amid continued heavy fighting.

Russian air strikes and drone barrages across Ukraine have caused significant casualties and damage in several regions. In the capital and surrounding areas, overnight bombardments killed at least 15 people and ignited warehouses in what local officials described as "one of the most tragic attacks so far."

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, local emergency services reported five fatalities and 16 injuries following nearly 60 strikes across multiple districts. Further strikes targeted southern and eastern regions, including a drone strike on a fuel station near Kryvyi Rih that killed three people, among them an eight-year-old child. Ukrainian authorities noted that approximately 180 drones were launched during the assault.

Concurrently, Russia's defense ministry claimed its forces took control of the eastern Donetsk settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk, while Ukrainian military officials reported ongoing intense combat along the front lines.
