Russian forces launched a third massive air attack this week on Kyiv and surrounding regions, killing over 20 people and leaving dozens injured across Ukraine.

Russian forces launched a series of massive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine overnight, targeting Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. The bombardment marked the third major aerial assault on the capital and its surrounding region within a single week.

Local authorities reported at least 15 to 17 fatalities and dozens of injuries in the Kyiv area alone, where fires damaged residential buildings, warehouses, and industrial sites. Regional officials described the strike as "one of the most tragic attacks so far." Additional deaths were recorded across the Dnipropetrovsk region, including a drone strike near Kryvyi Rih that hit a gas station, killing three people.

The widespread attacks come as Ukrainian air defense units contend with acute shortages of interceptor missiles, leaving urban centers and critical infrastructure increasingly exposed to sustained bombardment.
