Russian streaming platforms, judicial authorities, and schools are expanding content restrictions and state-aligned messaging across multiple sectors.

Russian authorities, streaming services, and educational institutions are intensifying restrictions on foreign media content and expanding state-aligned messaging.

An investigation by Mediazona, cited by The Insider, revealed that online platform Amediateka excised over 75 hours of footage across 200 foreign television series. The cuts targeted approximately 7,300 scenes involving LGBT topics, drug use, suicide, and incest, occasionally removing critical plotlines entirely.

In a separate legal decision reported by Verstka, a Russian court banned the romance novel Heated Rivalry under laws prohibiting the promotion of non-traditional sexual relationships.

Meanwhile, NEXTA reported that supplementary educational materials introduced in Novosibirsk schools promote military participation as an honorable duty while denouncing Western cultural values and non-traditional relationships.
