At least eight people were killed in widespread Russian drone strikes across Ukraine, as Moscow claimed the capture of two settlements in the Donetsk region.

Russian aerial attacks targeting several Ukrainian regions resulted in at least eight deaths and more than 60 injuries over a 24-hour period. Around 180 drones were launched across Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia.

In Dnipropetrovsk, regional emergency services reported five fatalities and 16 injuries across several districts following dozens of strikes, with casualties confirmed in Kamianske and Pavlohrad. Another drone strike struck a petrol station near Kryvyi Rih, killing three people, including an eight-year-old child.

Simultaneously, the Russian defence ministry claimed that its units seized the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian authorities reported ongoing intense combat across active sectors of the front.
