A Russian drone strike killed a train crew near Odesa as widespread aerial bombardments continue to inflict heavy casualties across Ukraine.

Russian aerial bombardments across Ukraine have continued to inflict severe civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. Near Odesa in southern Ukraine, a Russian drone struck a passenger train, killing the locomotive driver and his assistant, according to Ukrainian national railway officials.

The incident follows widespread overnight drone and missile attacks involving around 180 unmanned aerial vehicles targeting multiple regions, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. Officials in Kyiv reported at least 15 fatalities, while strikes in Dnipropetrovsk killed five people and injured 16 others. In addition, three people, including an eight-year-old child, died when a drone hit a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

Meanwhile, Moscow claimed its forces captured the Donetsk settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk. Ukrainian defense forces acknowledged intense ongoing battles along the eastern front.
