At least 17 people died in Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv, while Moscow claimed the capture of two Donetsk settlements amid heavy frontline fighting.

Aerial strikes and intense battles continued across Ukraine as Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks targeting Kyiv and multiple eastern and southern regions. Local authorities reported at least 17 fatalities and dozens of injuries in the capital and surrounding areas, where missile strikes triggered widespread fires in residential and industrial zones.

Across eastern and southern Ukraine, approximately 180 drones targeted regions including Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. In Dnipropetrovsk, five people were killed, including three victims of a drone strike on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed its forces captured the Donetsk region settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk. Ukrainian military officials acknowledged heavy combat along the front line without confirming the loss of either location.
