Russian air strikes cause heavy casualties across Ukraine as Moscow claims eastern advances

Russian forces carried out widespread overnight aerial attacks across Ukraine using drones and ballistic missiles, causing severe damage and loss of life in multiple regions. The capital region of Kyiv suffered heavy bombardments, resulting in at least 17 deaths, dozens of injuries, and widespread fires in residential areas and warehouses. In Dnipropetrovsk, regional authorities reported five fatalities and 16 injuries following dozens of strikes targeting several districts, including an attack on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed its troops captured the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in eastern Donetsk. Ukrainian officials reported ongoing intense combat along the eastern front lines.
