Russian drone and missile attacks killed at least 17 people in the Kyiv region, while Moscow claimed territorial gains in eastern Ukraine.

Russian forces launched widespread missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, causing extensive casualties and damage in Kyiv and surrounding regions. Local officials reported at least 17 deaths and dozens of injuries in the capital area following overnight bombardments involving ballistic missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, local authorities confirmed five fatalities and 16 injuries following dozens of strikes targeting multiple districts, including an attack on a gas station near Kryvyi Rih that killed three people. Additional strikes were reported in Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions as Ukrainian air defenses engaged an estimated 180 incoming drones.

Simultaneously, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed that its troops captured the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region. Ukrainian military officials acknowledged fierce frontline engagements in these areas without confirming any territorial losses.
