Russia and Ukraine exchanged missile and drone strikes overnight, while US-led NATO forces engaged in heightened military maneuvers near Kaliningrad.

Russian forces launched overnight ballistic missile attacks against Kyiv, killing at least two people and injuring six others, following earlier strikes on a British American Tobacco facility in northern Ukraine. In response, Ukrainian drones targeted industrial facilities in Russia's Saratov and Samara regions. Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishev reported that air defenses intercepted "dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles," though a fire subsequently broke out at the Kuibyshev oil refinery.

Meanwhile, reports emerged of heightened NATO military activity around Russia's Kaliningrad enclave. The U.S.-led operations reportedly involved American and Norwegian fighter jets, AWACS and EA-37 reconnaissance aircraft, and Polish ground forces. Responding to queries regarding the maneuvers, NATO officials stated that the alliance operates for defensive purposes and continually works to enhance its operational capabilities.
