Russia and Ukraine traded heavy missile and drone strikes while US-led NATO forces conducted military operations near Kaliningrad.

Following the departure of American envoys from Kyiv, Russia launched ballistic missile strikes against the Ukrainian capital, killing at least two people and injuring six others. The attack followed Russian drone strikes that damaged a British American Tobacco plant in northern Ukraine.

In retaliation, Ukrainian drones targeted industrial sites in Russia's Samara and Saratov regions. A fire broke out at the Kuibyshev oil refinery, while regional officials reported casualties in Saratov and claimed dozens of incoming drones were intercepted.

Simultaneously, NATO forces led by the United States conducted military operations near Russia's Kaliningrad enclave. The drills involved American and Norwegian fighter jets, reconnaissance aircraft, and Polish ground troops. NATO described the maneuvers as routine defensive capability enhancements.
